![]() St. Thomas All Stars Steel Orchestra The St. Thomas All Stars Steel Orchestra was developed as an avenue for adults to share in the preservation and enhancement of this unique art form in the Virgin Islands community. The band was originally named the Advanced Amateur All Stars Steel Band which was a creation of the Honorable Chief Verne Hodge and The Territorial Court''s Rising Stars Program. In July of 1992 the band began to make changes in its form and structure. By April 1993 the "Metamorphosis" was complete. The band''s name was changed to the St. Thomas All Stars Steel Orchestra and exhibited for the first time its rhythmic and melodic transformation in that year St. Thomas Carnival Pan-O-Rama. Since then the Band has made countless appearances at home and abroad. Its wide spectrum of musical selections has entertained audiences of all cultures. Currently the band has 35 members ranging in age from 18 to the mid 60''s.\r\nThe St. Thomas All Stars Steel Orchestra meets every Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Saturday from 7:00 to 9:30 for practice at the WAPA Administration Building.'
